Back when they first launched their Kickstarter, the PfW team was proud to support Butcher Box- a unique company passionate about bringing grass fed beef, chicken and pork to your door.

As many of you can attest, it is often difficult to find grass fed beef and other meats.

Either the cut we want is sold out or the price to ship it is exponential.

It’s tough in some areas to even find local veggies, let alone grass-fed meat.

Butcher Box is here to change that.

After their kickstarter was overwhelmingly supported by the paleo community, many of them you lovely PfW readers, Butcher Box generously offered to let me sample a box to get a feel for what their products are really like.

Gladly, I agreed and chose the all-beef box. (Who wouldn’t want delicious grass fed beef?)

I expected a box of ground beef, maybe a steak or two.  But what I got was so much more!

I received a full box, just like the one you would get if you signed on with them.  It contained top sirloin steaks, ground beef, beef tips, short ribs, and (get this!) BACON.

It was more than I could have imagined and an extremely good value for the fee they charge.

I’ve been eating off this box for a good couple weeks now and still have plenty left.

Each box is different, too!  That way you’ll always have variety.

And not only that but each box comes with recipe cards for some of the cuts of meat, so you don’t have to wrack your brain with what to make with all this fabulous meat.

(You could use recipes from any of the recent cookbooks I’ve reviewed, like the new Ditch The Wheat Cookbook!)

I used the short ribs in the crockpot with a paleo barbeque sauce with some barbeque sauce (I used Wellbee’s) and beef broth from Kettle and Fire.

It was de-lish!

The steaks I coated with some Redmond’s Real Salt and Herbs de Provence and put them on the grill.

Next up, beef tips in a red wine sauce!  Mmmmm.

Butcher Box is now open for taking orders, so take a look at their website and find out about their great boxes here.
