Got a hankering for snacks?
Okay, so we won’t be having gumdrops anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean we can’t occasionally have something great!
Over the past year I’ve been introduced to some totally delicious paleo snacks that have opened my eyes and my snack-world!
And today (for you AND for myself!) I decided to round all my favorite snack posts up in one convenient location.
Now you can find all my favorite chocolates, bars, salty snacks all from companies I know and TRUST to provide solid paleo ingredients.
I know you know that snacks are meant to be treats, not something that makes up a large portion of your daily diet.
A focus on filling, healthy paleo food and nutrition should be first and foremost.
But hey, a snack here and there won’t kill you.
And I’d rather eat a snack made from paleo ingredients than stuff my face full of JUNK.
So without further ado, here are my favorite snacks!
All the Best Butters
Most of us have given up peanut butter (sob!) and that sucks.
But we don’t have to totally give up on creamy deliciousness that goes great on crackers, apple slices, celery, and straight off our fingers from the jar.
Ants on a log, anyone?
This article tells you all about my favorite nut and seed butters. Some are exotic, some are good for those with nut allergies, and all are organic. Check it out!/week-paleo-best-butters/
Cookies Galore
It doesn’t have to be Christmas to enjoy Christmas cookies.
In fact, I enjoy cookies often throughout the year and find that these cookie mixes make things much easier.
Sure, I’ll sometimes find the energy to bake from scratch, but it can be so tough with paleo flours.
And when I’m tired of trying and failing (and wasting $$$ on flour and expensive fats) to make the perfect cookie, I throw that crumbly crap away and break open a mix.
Hey, it makes things infinitely simpler and I like to keep them on hand for a quick something to whip up after a long day or to take to a party.
This article goes into several of my favorite cookie mixes as well as brownies. Yum!

Granola and Jerky and Fruit, Oh My!
In the somewhat healthier category, this article discusses my favorite dried fruit, granola, and jerky from Steve’s Paleo Goods- a wonderful company doing great things for kids.
I literally dream about their dried strawberries.
If I open a bag I’m not-so-embarrassed that I usually eat the whole thing in two sittings.
It’s tough to find jerky that isn’t made with gluteny soy sauce, so this is one of the only sources I’ll use.
And the granola (if you can tolerate nuts) is heavenly. Truly. Find it here: /this-week-in-paleo-jerky-dried-fruit-and-granola/
Get Your Chocolate Fix
Who doesn’t love chocolate?
Seriously, it’s delicious. It’s (kinda) nutritious. And it is always feels like a true luxury.
When buying chocolate, I like to support companies that use fair trade practices and include paleo-only ingredients.
I don’t do dairy, so it can be tough to find even dark chocolate that doesn’t use it. I’ve got some options for you in this post all about how I get my chocolate fix!

Bars and More Bars
Everybody needs a good bar for occasional meal replacements, post-workout snacks, and to satisfy nagging cravings during transition times.
These bars do the trick.
Here you’ll find my suggestions including high protein bars, sweeter bars, and everything in between. Find it here: /this-week-in-paleo-paleo-bars/

Good afternoon!
My name is Mandi Pimental, Editor of Paleo Living Magazine and I wanted to speak with you on featuring a recipe in an upcoming issue as well as promoting your book. I did not see a Contact Me page on your website, so I apologize for leaving this in a comment. If interested in speaking with me further, please send me an email. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
I have been avoiding chocolate, since I was a chocoholic and became aware that my neurotransmitters, foremostly serotonin are low. I wanted to see how I feel without chocolate. With another re-dedication to my mostly Paleo-ish diet, with added carbs (thanks to your writing, Stefani) I am feeling better. With some help from 5htp and other things, I am having lower cravings.
So, now I’ve been wondering, what would be a reasonable limit to the amount of chocolate a person could eat and not consider one’s self “addicted” or eating simply to gain energy? I am wondering what a person with a healthy appetite and a healthy body without a lot of cravings, how much do you eat? (I was thinking of letting myself eat it once a week, OR maybe twice but making sure not to eat a lot in one sitting–as I used to be able to eat “large” portions–I don’t know what that means, maybe 2 oz+ per day?
